Edinburgh male pedestrian sustains life threatening injuries after crash

An Edinburgh man was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash with a blue MG HS. Paramedics raced to the scene of the incident on Chesser Avenue at 12.21am on Saturday April 11.

Police closed off the road and the 49-year-old was transported to hospital. It is understood a 35-year-old female driver was not injured during the incident.

Officers are appealing to the public for information following the crash in the capital.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to contact us, especially those who may have dash cam footage that could assist with our enquiries.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0074 of 11 April, 2026.”
