‘Drivers should use caution on approach and expect delays’
West Lothian drivers are facing delays after a collision on the M8. The incident happened at around 10.30am, with traffic camera showing a vehicle on its roof at the side of the road at 2.45pm.
Elsewhere on the M8, a vehicle breakdown has also triggered restrictions between junctions two and three. Motorists have been urged to use caution and ‘expect delays’.
Traffic Scotland cameras showed vehicles in tailbacks on April 10. Earlier in the day, a number of people were seen crowding round the flipped car with others sitting on the grass.
The vehicle was left upside down with some debris strewn across the road. A statement from Traffic Scotland on Friday morning read: “The M8 is restricted WESTBOUND due to a road traffic incident. Traffic is also slowing eastbound.
“Drivers should use caution on approach and expect delays. Current delay approx. 14 mins.”
Traffic Scotland later added: “The M8 Westbound between Junction 2 and Junction 3 is currently restricted, due to a broken down vehicle.”
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
