Two officers were left with serious injuries
A group of men have been charged after seven police officers were assaulted. Officers from Kent Police stopped a vehicle in Carlisle Road, Dartford, just after 1am on Wednesday (April 22).
Following the stop, seven officers were assaulted, two of whom were left with serious injuries. They were taken to hospital for further medical care and have since been discharged.
Five men were arrested at the scene and, on Thursday (April 23), charges were levelled against them in relation to the incident. The men were charged as follows:
- Yusef Johnson, 31, of Singleton Close, London, was charged with two counts of GBH and affray.
- Jordan Johnson, 31, of Carlisle Road, Dartford, was charged with affray, ABH and assault on an emergency service worker.
- Gary Nembhard, 55, of Bennetts Close, Mitcham, Greater London, was charged with affray.
- Kamal Johnson, 25, of Carlisle Road, Dartford, was charged with affray.
- Georgie Bishop, 25, of Farrington Avenue, Orpington, was charged with assault on an emergency service worker and obstructing a constable in execution of duty.
They all appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court on the same day where Yusef Johnson and Jordan Johnson were remanded, while Gary Nembhard, Kamal Johnson and Georgie Bishop were bailed. The men are now due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, May 22.
