Three men, all from Essex, have been charged after a jewellery robbery
Three Essex men have been charged after a robbery at a jeweller’s in London. Deniz Mehmet, 28, from Aveley, Robert Clarke, 50, from Rochford and Lee Ramsey, 46, from Harlow, have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the robbery in Paved Court in Richmond, at around 10.34am on the morning of January 31.
Officers arrested Mehmet of Purfleet Road, Aveley, on Wednesday (April 8), having already charged Clarke of Lever Lane, Rochford and Ramsey of Hastingwood Road, Harlow on March 31.
All have appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, with Mehmet appearing this morning, and the two others on April 1. They are next due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on April 28.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather, from the Met’s Flying Squad, said: “Across the Met we are working hard to tackle retail crime, including robbery and shoplifting, as we know the significant impact these incidents have on shop workers and communities. We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident over the past few months and have now charged three people.”
