Armed police swarmed a residential street after a woman allegedly made threats with a firearm. Officers from Kent Police, joined by armed units, attended Lapwing Close in Minster on Sheppey at around 2.30pm yesterday (April 23).

A photo taken at the scene shows multiple police vehicles and numerous officers at the scene. Police were responding to a report a woman had threatened another woman with a weapon.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers supported by armed patrols attended the scene and arrested a 58-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. A 29-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting the same victim on previous occasions.”

The victim and both suspects are known to each other, and enquiries into all reported incidents are ongoing, the force said.
