They have now been found
Devon and Cornwall Police issued an urgent appeal to track down two missing schoolgirls after they were seen at a bus station.
Kelsie, 11, and Phoebe, 12, went missing after leaving school together in Kingsbridge, Devon, yesterday.
They have since been located and the force has thanked members of the public for helping with the search.
Police previously said they were “growing increasingly concerned for their welfare” after the pair were sighted at Torquay bus station this morning (Thursday, April 30).
A statement from the force initially said: “They have been sighted at a cashpoint in Torquay this morning [Thursday] and at the town’s bus station, possibly then boarding a bus to Brixham.”
“Kelsie is described as a white female, 5ft 2ins tall, with gingery long hair. She is believed to be wearing grey trousers, a grey hoodie and a black rucksack.
“Phoebe is described as 5ft tall with blonde hair and wearing a large black bag, a blue top, black trainers and black bottoms.
“It is believed they may have previously been hitchhiking in the South Hams and using public transport to move around Devon.”
An update shared shortly before 12.30pm confirmed: “We are pleased to share that Kelsie, 11, and Phoebe, 12, who had been reported missing from the Kingsbridge area, have been found. Thank you for sharing our appeal.”
