Morrissey to Perform Live in Cardiff in December 2026
Local music fans have reason to celebrate as Morrissey, the former lead singer of The Smiths, has announced a live performance in Cardiff as part of his upcoming tour. The concert is set to take place at the Utilita Arena on Thursday, December 10, 2026. This show coincides with the release of his new album titled Make Up is a Lie.
Tickets for the concert will be available for presale starting from May 20 at 9am, with general sales commencing on May 22 at 9am. Fans can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster and gigsandtours.com. This will mark Morrissey’s first performance in the Welsh capital since 2015, when he last played at the same venue.
The tour follows Morrissey’s sold-out show at The O2 in London earlier this year and includes a series of dates across the UK, with performances also scheduled in Brighton, Liverpool, Glasgow, and Leeds.
Morrissey is renowned not only as a prominent figure in British pop music but also as one of the most lauded lyricists of his generation. With a total of 25 top ten album placements in the UK—comprising 15 solo albums and 10 with The Smiths—his influence on the music scene remains significant. Notably, his 1992 concert at the Hollywood Bowl set a record as the fastest sell-out in the venue’s history, previously held by The Beatles. In recognition of his contributions to music, Morrissey received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
