Tesco is introducing Park and Pause bays at 10 UK stores on Saturday, with an offer to help people escape the Easter holiday chaos
Tesco has revealed it will be implementing a change for motorists using its car parks across 10 UK stores this weekend. From Saturday, Tesco will be launching new ‘Park and Pause’ bays across selected car parks in an attempt to help drivers avoid some of the Easter holiday mayhem.
The supermarket disclosed it will be introducing Park and Pause bays across 10 store car parks, which will provide motorists with the opportunity to park up and receive a complimentary hot drink and a biscuit.
Tesco stated the concept emerged after research discovered four in 10 Britons admitted to retreating to the supermarket to secure a few moments to themselves. Stay in the know by making sure you’re receiving our daily newsletter
Research from Tesco showed parents with children under the age of four are the demographic most likely to say they will volunteer to visit the supermarket in order to gain some time alone. Tesco also discovered 71% of parents said the Easter holidays can prove exhausting.
In response to this, Tesco has announced it will be offering motorists the chance to park up for a break in one of its limited-edition Park and Pause bays on Saturday, from 8am to 5pm.
Drivers will then be personally delivered a complimentary Tesco Finest hot drink and a biscuit. Park and Pause bays will be rolled out across 10 Tesco car parks on Saturday, including one location in Wales.
The scheme will also align with Tesco’s Quiet Hour, which runs between 9am and 10am, providing shoppers with a more peaceful shopping experience.
