Moving photos as sky turns pink in memory of murdered Chloe

Date:

A heartbroken community has come together in its hundreds to pay their respects to a teenage girl who was fatally stabbed last week.

Chloe Watson Dransfield was stabbed in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, before dying shortly after in hospital. Seven teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. Three have been charged, appearing in Leeds Crown Court today (Thursday, April 2).

Gomersall, where Chloe is from, came together to pay their respects to the teenager and her family. “We have just come together as a community,” Angela Bradley, 61, said. “This is what we are like around here. We are all local, and everybody knows everybody.”

Wilby, 67, added: “You don’t expect it, do you? I just feel so horrible for the parents, especially because I have grandkids around the same age.”

Marion Lennox said she has grown up with the family and wanted to pay her respects. “It’s nice to see everybody here,” she added. “We didn’t know how many people would be here.”

Wilby added: “It’s been really hard, but it brings the community together.”

Here are some pictures from an emotional day in Gomersall.
