According to Manchester Airport more than 1.7million passengers are set to pass through the airport over the next two weeks.

Those departing from Manchester Airport will get a glimpse of many of the new features which have opened in recent weeks as the airport’s £1.3billion, decade-long transformation comes to close. These include the Great Northern Market foodhall in Terminal 3 and new sports bar Sporting Chance in Terminal 3.

While the prospect of lounging by the pool in 20C weather generates a lot of excitment, many holidaymakers will be anxious that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could disrupt their journeys, or leave them stranded elsewhere with no way of getting home.

Many airlines have resumed flights to the region although the Foreign Office guidance still advises against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates.

Despite the uncertainty, travel agents report that Brits are still keen to go on holiday abroad and appetite for travel remains.
