He was once Essex royalty but now lives a completely normal life
Throughout its 16 years on our TV screens, The Only Way Is Essex has produced some household names. Full of relationship and friendship drama, the show really put Essex on the map in the TV world.
From Mark Wright to James Argent, Gemma Collins and Ferne McCann, the show has produced some very well known famous faces. While some of those who walked away from TOWIE went on to further their showbiz career, some turned their backs on TV completely.
Kirk Norcross is one former TOWIE star who now lives a completely ‘normal’ life. He initially rose to fame on the ITV2 reality series as one of the original cast members but left the programme after just two years.
Kirk was very much the ‘rich party boy’ who was constantly partying and surrounded by women, he enjoyed a romance with Amy Childs, and a long term relationship with Lauren Pope. Some years later Kirk spoke out about how his time on television affected his mental health.
In 2019, Kirk made the heart-breaking confession that he tried to take his own life when his time in the spotlight left him struggling from severe anxiety and depression. Kirk turned down the opportunity to appear in the 10-year TOWIE anniversary reunion show.
On the show, Kirk was seen as Essex royalty, as his late dad, Mick, owned club and bar SugarHut. Mick tragically took his own life at his Bulphan home in January 2021. An inquest heard how Mick felt ‘unable to cope’ with money worries before taking his own life.
He went on to appear in Celebrity Big Brother and the 2015 series of MTV‘s Ex On The Beach but has turned his back on TV ever since. Now, he has a completely different job working as a rubbish collector.
Kirk is running the company, County Clear Waste, a same-day collection waste service based in both Norfolk and Suffolk. He deals with household waste, commercial and industrial waste as well as a ‘wait and load service’.
Appearing to have been set up in January this year, the business appears to be relatively new. But this isn’t the first business Kirk has built. The former star previously operated his own jet-washing business based in Essex.
He ran KN Jet Services, a jet-washing and drain-cleaning company, which was his first foray into a normal job since leaving TV. Away from work, Kirk is a dad to his two children.
