Police appeal for witnesses to a two-car crash involving a Honda and a Volkswagen
A driver was seriously injured and another was taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Birmingham.
The collision involved a silver Honda and a white Volkswagen. It happened at the junction of Rupert Street and Avenue Road in Nechells at around 3.30pm yesterday, Monday, March 30.
Two men, who were the drivers, were injured.

The Honda driver, a man in his 70s, suffered serious injuries and remained in hospital.
The 19-year-old VW driver was also taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be as serious.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a two-car road traffic collision on Rupert Street at 3.26pm yesterday.
“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients, both men.
“One of whom was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
“The second man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to Heartlands Hospital.”

Rupert Street was closed to traffic following the incident for police investigations. West Midlands Police appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman said: “We’re appealing for information and witnesses after a man was badly hurt in a collision in Nechells.
“We were called to the junction of Rupert Street and Avenue Road at around 3.30pm on Monday.
“Two cars, a white Volkswagen and a silver Honda, had collided. The driver of the Honda, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
“The driver of the VW, a man aged 19, was also taken to hospital.”

The statement continued: “Specialist officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out a number of enquiries and working to establish the exact circumstances around what happened.
