A 37-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody
Neighbours have been left in “shock” after the death of a 19-year-old woman, who was killed in a suspected dog attack. A small village has reacted after a woman died at a property in Leaden Roding, which police believe was the result of an attack by a dog; investigations remain ongoing.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an address in Leaden Roding at around 10.45pm on Friday nighht (April 10). Essex Police remain at the scene, and a cordon remains in place in Long Hide while officers investigate.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death, and remains in custody. A dog, believed to be involved in the incident, has been seized by police.
One neighbour said: “It’s really tragic. I feel for the whole family. She was well-liked by the kids. We didn’t know what happened until this morning. For all concerned, it’s devastating. We feel for the family. We’re still trying to process it. It has been a shock.”
Another added: “They kept themselves to themselves, they never caused us any problems. It’s just very, very sad and very tragic.”
