PC Bradley died in the crash and his colleague was critically injured

The police officer who was critically injured in a crash which tragically caused the death of his Kent Police colleague remains in hospital in a “serious condition”. The officers were taken to hospital after their vehicle collided with a blue Volkswagen Scirocco at around 7.45pm on Thursday, March 19 on the A20 London Road in Farningham, near Swanley, at the junction with Button Street.

The officers had been responding to an emergency in a marked Ford Focus police car. The member of the public in the Volkswagen was also taken to a London hospital in a “serious condition”.

PC Bradley Corke, 27, died two days later (March 21) and tributes flooded in for the young officer who was based in Tonbridge and had served with Kent Police since May 2022, working the towns of west Kent. The force said his “bravery, dedication and passion for helping others” would not be forgotten.

Paying tribute to him and calling him Brad, his family said he was “a true gentleman in every situation he encountered”. In an update today (April 1), a Kent Police spokesperson said: “An officer who suffered critical injuries during a collision in Farningham, near Swanley, remains in hospital in a serious condition and continues to receive medical attention.
