Car fails to stop in Gipton after collision with woman

Detectives are investigation a suspected hit and run after a woman was left injured at the roadside in Leeds.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fail to stop collision involving a car and pedestrian. Roads policing officers would like to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam of the incident on Thorn Drive, Gipton on Wednesday (April 1).

It took place at about 7.10pm when a car, thought to be a 2010 model grey Renault Scenic, was in collision with a woman. The car failed to stop at the scene, leaving the woman in the road with serious injuries. She was taken to hospital for treatment to the injuries which were not described as life-threatening.

Anyone who has footage or can assist enquires in any way is asked to contact the West Yorkshire Roads Policing Unit on 101 or online here. Those getting in touch should reference police log number 1517 of April 1.
