Busy Edinburgh city centre street 'blocked' as police race to 'incident'

A crash partially blocked a busy Edinburgh street on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred on Dundas Street, near the junction with Heriot Row, in the New Town, at around 10.55am. Police are already in attendance at the scene.

It is not known how many vehicles were involved or whether anybody has been injured. Pictures taken from the scene show officers allegedly taking statements.

A statement from Edinburgh Travel News reads: “An RTC has just happened here. Police are in attendance. The road is partially blocked but may need to close fully.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
