Emergency services remain at the scene.
A huge Edinburgh emergency response is currently at the scene of an ‘ongoing incident’ on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place around 12.30pm on Main Street, Balerno.
Police, Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue remain in attendance. Pictures taken from the scene show a white car mounted on a stone wall.
It’s understood the vehicle was a hybrid car. Several police officers and firefighters were pictured near the vehicle.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a crash on Main Street in Balerno, Edinburgh, around 11.45am on Thursday, 14 May, 2026.“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.49 to attend an incident on Main Street, Balerno.
“An ambulance, two special operations response teams (SORT) and a critical care paramedic was dispatched to the scene. No patients were transported to hospital.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.47am on Thursday, 14 May, to reports of a single vehicle collision on Main Street in Balerno, Edinburgh.“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to assist emergency service partners at the scene.“One adult casualty was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, and crews left around 12.30pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
