The crash took place around 10.30am. It’s not yet known if there have been any injuries. The road is currently restricted westbound at Junction 3-3a with drivers warned of delays.

A number of people can be seen crowding round the car with others sitting on the grass. The vehicle was left upside down with some debris strewn across the road.

A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: “The M8 is restricted WESTBOUND due to a road traffic incident. Traffic is also slowing eastbound.
