A notorious Cardiff criminal has been sent to prison after stealing a Nintendo Switch and an e-scooter from a property in Splott. Lloyd Paterson, of Butetown has been handed another jail sentence after previously being sentenced for thefts from cars and criminal damage as well as possessing a bladed article after a man was stabbed in the stomach in a separate incident.
The 28-year-old has now been sentenced to more than four years in prison after officers were called to an address on Aberystwyth Street, Splott, on July 22 at around 5.20am to reports of a burglary.
The Cardiff man entered the home and stole a Nintendo Switch, a wallet and contents, a mobile phone, and an e-scooter.
Paterson was identified to officers at the scene and during arrest enquiries in Adamsdown, Paterson attempted to evade officers by fleeing on foot.

Paterson was jailed for 54 months on March 31 after pleading guilty to burglary dwelling and theft – no violence at Cardiff Crown Court on February 24.
Paterson’s crime spate began at a young, in 2017 police used DNA collected from a stone used to smash a car window in a supermarket car park to convict him. He was jailed for 10 months and ordered to pay £4,400 in compensation to the victims
Then in August 2019, Antonio Borg suffered injuries to his internal organs after he was stabbed in the abdomen and heart during a fight outside a social club party in Cardiff.
In court Lloyd Paterson, who was originally investigated for attempted murder, pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article and was sentenced.
