Cases of Norovirus are rising across the community as well as within the hospitals
Hospitals in Wales are continuing to see severe pressure on services as cases of Norovirus rise within communities and on hospital wards. The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is appealing to the public as they experience “severe pressure” across its hospital sites in south Wales.
Emergency departments within Princess of Wales, Prince Charles and Royal Glamorgan Hospitals are being significantly impacted and the health board is asking the public to please only attend the Emergency Department in an emergency.
Cases of Norovirus are rising across the community as well as within the hospitals which is impacting staff’s ability to move patients through the hospital.

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board said: “We are urging the public to please only attend the Emergency Department in an emergency and to consider other healthcare options available to you.
“If you have a minor injury, such as minor burns, minor wounds, minor limb injuries, minor head and neck injuries, you can visit our Minor Injuries Units at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon or Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda.”

- Contact a member of the Primary Care team in the community such as your GP, dentist, optometrist or pharmacy
- Call 111 to access urgent advice and guidance and the Out of Hours service
