The animals have been taken away so they can be looked after, police said
More than 20 animals have been removed from an Essex home following concerns about their welfare. Officers from Essex Police worked alongside the RSPCA to investigate the report.
Police attended the property in St Osyth alongside officials from the specialist animals agency on Thursday (April 30). The animals were removed from the address so they could be looked after, police said.
The RSPCA encourages people to report any concerns about animal welfare. If an offence has been committed, officers will conduct a thorough investigation.
A spokesperson for Essex Police’s Tendring unit said: “After concerns were raised about the welfare of animals at a property in St Osyth, officers worked closely with the RSPCA to make sure the animals were safe and given the care they needed. By working together, officers were able to carry out a warrant at the address on Thursday, 30 April.
“More than 20 animals were removed from the property so they could be properly looked after. Working with trusted partners like the RSPCA is important. It helps make sure animals are protected quickly and get the right support when there are concerns about their welfare.”
