The burger chain branded the move the “end of this chapter”
Burger chain Patty&Bun has closed four restaurants across London, bosses have announced. Brick-and-mortar sites in James Street (Marylebone), Liverpool Street, Kingly Street (Soho) and Northcote Road (Battersea) shut suddenly as the business ends “this chapter”.
The reason behind the decision was not mentioned in an announcement shared on social media last night (March 30). Patty&Bun said: “We’ve loved being part of these communities and just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s walked through these doors. It’s been a privilege to serve you. To our teams past and present, the graft, the energy, the madness and the love you put into every shift…we’re endlessly grateful.”
The chain confirmed this “isn’t goodbye” and will continue operating in Canary Wharf, Oxford Street, Victoria and Leyton, as well as via delivery apps. Brighton will also retain its two locations.
Patty & Bun underwent a restructure in March 2025, with documents later revealing it was acquired out of administration for around £500,000. No jobs were lost during this time.
First launched in 2011, founder Joe Grossman set about creating the “best burgers possible” inspired by a USA road trip. He has since opened The Waterman’s Arms, a riverside pub in Barnes.
In 2025, he took on Soho institution The Shaston Arms weeks after its ‘devastated’ landlady of 25 years was forced out by a lease transfer.
