Thousands of tributes have been paid to the 16-year-old following her death
The family of ‘murdered’ teen Chloe Watson has asked the community to come together to “honour” their “beautiful” girl.
The community of Leeds has been rocked following the “senseless and tragic” death of 16-year-old Chloe Watson Dransfield, after she was found unconscious and suffering from stab wounds to the back in the early hours of March 28.
In the midst of a police appeal, urging members of the public to come forward with “footage” which has allegedly been circulating on social media of Chloe’s death, Chloe’s family has announced that a tribute balloon release will take place later today (April 2).
A post on Facebook by close family explained that on Thursday (April 2), a balloon release in “Chloe’s honor” would take place at the Nibshaw Lane Football Pitch at 6pm.
The post read: “Please join us as we come together to remember and celebrate Chloe’s life. Let’s fill the sky with pink balloons in her honor and show our love and support. Everyone is welcome.”
Already, thousands of tributes have been paid to the “loving big sister” from all across the UK, with the balloon release set to be the latest in a string of memorial efforts.
Following her death, Kayla Smith, 18, of Kennerleigh Avenue, Archie Rycroft, 19, of Middleton Park Road, were charged with murder alongside a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons. They all appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning (March 31) and were remanded into custody before their next hearing at the city’s Crown Court today.
