Man found dead at home in Lossiemouth as police probe 'unexplained' death

A man has been found dead at a property in Lossiemouth.

Emergency services raced to the property on the Moray town’s Spynie Place after receiving a report of concern for a man at 2.15pm on Saturday, May 2. Crews attended and the 48-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

His family have been made aware. Police say they are treating his death as unexplained.

Inquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Saturday, 2 May, 2026, we were called to a report of concern for a man at an address on Spynie Place in Lossiemouth. Emergency services attended however the 48-year-old man was pronounced dead. His family is aware.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
