Girl 'too scared to go to school' after brutal attack left her with teeth damage

A video of the attack has gone viral

A shocking viral video has captured a brutal fight between teenagers, which a mum says has left her daughter “scared to go to school”.

The violent altercation broke out in Bradley Stoke on Tuesday, March 31. BristolLive spoke to the mum of one of the girls involved, who she says has been left with a broken wrist and whiplash-like injuries following the fight.

“She’s scared to leave the house, she’s scared about her grades because she’s too scared to go to school,” the mum said. BristolLive has chosen not to identify any of the girls involved.

The footage shows a girl (Girl A) being punched in the head by another (Girl B) while she tried to defend herself. A third teenager (Girl C) wearing a white t-shirt, responds by swinging out at the initial attacker, appearing to defend her friend.

A fourth girl (Girl D), wearing a black hoodie, joins in and Girl C is surrounded by the pair. She falls the the floor, pulling Girl B with her, as Girl D repeatedly hits her on the head. An adult man is then seen trying to break up the row, as Girl D is heard shouting swear words towards Girls A and C.

Girl C is filmed walking away from the other girls, who follow her around the corner of a building, shouting more swear words. The final moments of the video aren’t completely clear, but the adult man is seen between the two girls as another fight breaks out.

The mum said the other group had been throwing food and water at her daughter and her friend. “One of the bullies punched her in the back of her head,” the mum said, adding that her daughter then phoned her and walked away.

“That’s when one of the girls started attacking [Girl A]. Two jumped on her. [Girl A] got away and now it’s two on one.”

She said the girls were crying and hysterical. They went to a nearby leisure centre while the mum rushed out to get to her daughter.

“I was on the phone with [my daughter] when I got to the youth centre,” the mum explained. “I spoke to a random person who said they didn’t see anything happening.

“My daughter said “that’s them” and they turned on me. They threatened me, saying they know where I live, they didn’t care.

“I was with [my daughter], her friend and a year seven, trying the keep them safe, I knew I couldn’t walk away.” The mum added that the police arrived.

Her daughter and daughter’s friend have suffered lasting effects from the attack, the mum said. Girl A’s teeth were damaged, requiring medical treatment, while Girl C has a broken wrist, several bruises and muscular injuries similar to whiplash.

“Her GCSEs are soon and she’s got to sit in the same room as her attackers,” the mum said. “This was the first time they went out together in a while. [Girl C] defended her friend. She will defend a stranger. She wears her heart on her sleeve, she’ll do anything for anyone.”

She added: “I want it to stop. I want children to feel safe.”

The video has been widely shared on social media, and viewed nearly 120,000 times.

It comes only a month after a teenage girl was attacked by a group of boys and girls outside Zara in Cabot Circus. The girl’s mum, identified only as Stacey, told BristolLive in March how her daughter was followed to the bus stop and attacked.

“Luckily, she wasn’t badly injured,” Stacey said. “She’s a bit bruised but there are no injuries. She had concussion and some bruising to her cheeks, a few heel marks on her legs. We’re very lucky.”
