It comes as the local council is planning around 7,400 new homes across the district
Initial plans have been drawn up for 1,000 new homes near an Essex seaside town. Developer Andrew Bacon is proposing the huge development, which also includes spaces for various businesses and parks.
The development, known as Weeley Green Garden Village, off Colchester Road, Weeley, near Clacton. The site is currently used as farmland and is near six Grade II Listed buildings.
The plans state the development will create “substantial benefits and opportunities to both the new residents and occupiers of the scheme and the existing community.”
It comes as Tendring District Council is planning around 7,400 new homes in Tendring to meet new mandatory housing targets.
There will also be approximately 18 hectares of open space and parkland, with a large village green to the east of the site, adjacent to Weeley By-Pass and a new junction to serve the Garden Village. The plans add: “It is proposed that this will be an attractive entrance into the site, in proximity with new footpath and cycle connections with the existing community via The Street.”
